A simple merchant-facing workflow
Create a free project at clarity.microsoft.com (any Microsoft, Google, or Facebook account works) and copy your Project ID from Settings → Overview.
Install the app and paste the Project ID — or the full tracking snippet — into the settings page and save. Validation catches typos instantly.
Click "Enable app embed in Theme Editor" — the Theme Editor opens with the Microsoft Clarity embed already activated. Click Save to publish.
Browse your storefront, then open your Clarity dashboard — sessions usually appear within a few minutes.

Yes, Clarity itself is a free product from Microsoft with no traffic limits. The subscription — $5 every 30 days, or $54/year ($6 off), both with a 5-day free trial — covers the Shopify integration: one-step setup with validation, safe no-code script injection via a theme app embed, and support. This app is not affiliated with Microsoft.
Will it slow down my store?
No. The Clarity script is a single, small, asynchronous script that doesn't block page rendering — and it is only injected at all while a valid Project ID is saved. No ID, no script, zero footprint.
What data does the app collect from my customers?
None. The app requests no Admin API access scopes and stores only your Project ID inside Shopify. Visitor analytics are collected by your own Microsoft Clarity project, on Microsoft's infrastructure, under Microsoft's terms.
